Flags and Tags Project

You may have started seeing plastic green tags attached to some trees and small green flags stuck in the ground at various spots.  The Serrano Park Landscape Committee is trying out a new method of posting maintenance issues to be corrected.  We selected green to be less noticeable.  Each tag and flag is labeled with a unique date and number code and an abbreviated issue statement.  By taking a photo of the tag, we can capture it’s GPS coordinates and the tag data.  This is entered into a shared spreadsheet that functions as a punch list.  The tags can be easily uploaded to a map overlay.  The concept here is to try to make it easier to record and track issues as a team effort.  We have only recently started this program and will see how it goes.

Please, do not disturb our flags and tags.
